Section 13A-11-270 Airbag fraud. (a) For the purposes of this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) AIRBAG. A motor vehicle inflatable occupant restraint system or any component thereof that satisfies both of the following: a. Operates in the event of a crash. b. Was designed in accordance with all applicable federal safety standards for the specific make, model, and year of the motor vehicle in which it is or will be installed. (2) COUNTERFEIT AIRBAG. A replacement motor vehicle inflatable occupant restraint system or any component thereof displaying a mark identical or similar to the genuine mark of a motor vehicle manufacturer without authorization from the manufacturer. (3) NONFUNCTIONAL AIRBAG. A replacement motor vehicle inflatable occupant restraint system or any component thereof that satisfies any of the following: a. Was previously deployed or damaged. b. (b)(1) The Legislature finds and declares that: a.
