Section 38-4-14 Limitations on use of public assistance benefits. (a) For the purposes of this
section, the term public assistance benefits means money or property provided directly or
indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any
political subdivision thereof, and administered by the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
(b)(1) A recipient of public assistance benefits may not use any portion of the benefits for
the purchase of any alcoholic beverage, tobacco product, or lottery ticket. Any person who
violates this subsection shall reimburse the Department of Human Resources for the purchase
and shall be subject to the following sanctions: a. Upon the first violation, the person shall
be disqualified from receiving public assistance benefits by means of direct cash payment
or an electronic benefits transfer access card for one month. b. Upon the second violation,

Section 45-49-170.73 Report of cost of demolition; adoption of resolution fixing costs; proceeds
of sale of salvaged materials; objections; lien. (a) Upon demolition of any building or structure
pursuant to this subpart, the appropriate county official shall make a report to the county
commission of the demolition costs at a meeting held for that purpose, and the county commission
shall adopt a resolution fixing the costs which it finds were reasonably incurred in the demolition,
and shall assess those costs against the property. The appropriate county official shall give
notice of the meeting at which the fixing of such costs are to be considered by first-class

Section 11-50-92 Proceedings for sale of land upon failure of property owner to pay assessment,
installment or interest - Notice of sale; payment of assessment prior to sale; cost of notice

Section 11-99A-21 Failure to pay assessments. If the owner of any land within the district
fails to pay an assessment when due, time being of the essence, the board may commence proceedings
to foreclose on the land as follows: (1) The board shall send a letter, certified mail, return
receipt requested, United States first class mail to the last known address of the owner.
The address of the owner as shown in the tax assessment records of the tax assessor or revenue
commissioner for the county in which the property is located shall be sufficient. (2) The
letter shall specify that if payment is not made within 10 days of the date of the letter,

retirement fund shall consist of the following: (1) All of the money, securities, and things

sale of property and application of proceeds. When the claim interposed is based on a mortgage
or lien, the claimant must state in his affidavit the nature of the right which he claims;
and, in case such claim is sustained on the trial, the amount of it, whether then due or not,

(a) In this section the following terms have the following meanings: (1) ANIMAL TRUST. A trust
or an interest in a trust created to provide for the care of one or more animals. (2) PROTECTOR.
A person appointed in an animal trust to enforce the trust on behalf of the animal or, if
no such person is appointed in the trust, a person appointed by the court for that purpose.
(b) The decanting power may be exercised over an animal trust that has a protector to the
extent the trust could be decanted under this chapter if each animal that benefits from the
trust were an individual, if the protector consents in a signed record to the exercise of
the power. (c) A protector for an animal has the rights under this chapter of a qualified
