Section 13A-12-21 Simple gambling. (a) A person commits the crime of simple gambling
if he knowingly advances or profits from unlawful gambling activity as a player. (b) It is
a defense to a prosecution under this section that a person charged with being a player

Section 13A-12-20 Definitions. The following definitions apply to this article: (1)
ADVANCE GAMBLING ACTIVITY. A person "advances gambling activity" if he engages in
conduct that materially aids any form of gambling activity. Conduct of this nature includes
but is not limited to conduct directed toward the creation or establishment of the particular
game, contest, scheme, device or activity involved, toward the acquisition or maintenance
of premises, paraphernalia, equipment or apparatus therefor, toward the solicitation or inducement
of persons to participate therein, toward the actual conduct of the playing phases thereof,
toward the arrangement of any of its financial or recording phases or toward any other phase

Section 20-2-190 Penalties; sale of ephedrine, etc.; Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force.
(a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor
chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting
requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record
required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article
to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this
article, and knowingly or deliberately fails to obtain such a license or permit. An offense
under this subsection shall constitute a Class C felony. (b) Notwithstanding the provisions

Section 34-1A-7 Licenses - Required. (a) Effective January 1, 1998, it shall be unlawful
for any person or business entity to engage in a business regulated by this chapter in this
state without a current valid license or in violation of this chapter and applicable rules
and regulations of the board. (b) Effective January 1, 1998, it shall be unlawful for a person

Section 11-65-2 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this chapter,
and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, unless the context clearly
