Notwithstanding the foregoing, no person under 16 years of age shall work any hours that interfere with his or her school performance. Section 25-8-37 Employment during schools hours; employment of persons 14 or 15 years of age upon waiver of school attendance. (a) No person under 16 years of age shall be employed, permitted, or suffered to work in any occupation during the hours in which the public schools of the district in which the person resides are in session, unless the minor has completed the course of study required for secondary schools.
