Section 13A-11-75.1 Pistol permit for retired military personnel. (a) The words retired military veteran as used in this section, unless the context clearly requires a different meaning, means only those persons who are retirees from active duty in the Army, or the Navy, or the Marine Corps, or the Air Force, or the Coast Guard of the United States or any reserve or National Guard component thereof. (b) Any retired military veteran who meets the conditions for issuance of a pistol permit pursuant to Section 13A-11-75 shall be eligible to obtain the pistol permit without paying a fee for the permit. Upon approval of the pistol permit application, the pistol permit shall be issued by the sheriff of the county in which the veteran resides upon presentation by the retired military veteran of the United States government issued Veteran Identification Card or a DD-214 Proof of Military Service form and sufficient proof that the person is a military retiree. (a) Any jurisdiction or agency responsible for registering a sex offender shall immediately forward all required registration information and any changes to the required registration information received to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency in a manner determined by the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency and promulgated in rule by the secretary upon recommendation of an advisory board consisting of representatives of the office of the Attorney General, District Attorneys Association, Chiefs of Police Association, Sheriffs Association, and the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency. Section 39-3-3 Penalties for violations of Section 39-3-2; reliance by employers upon certificates of sheriffs, etc., as to residence of workmen or laborers. (a) Whoever violates Section 39-3-2 is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $100.00 or imprisoned for not more than 60 days or both, at the discretion of the court, and every day's employment of each workman or laborer in violation of Section 39-3-2 shall constitute a separate offense.
