Section 41-13-7 Identifying information of state employees on records available for public inspection. (a) As used in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) EMPLOYEE. (a) Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding and except as provided in subsection (b), no retirement benefits of whatever kind or description shall be payable to any former participant for any period during which the former participant is employed by the city, is due a salary from the city, or has been paid a salary by the city, except persons elected by the people to serve the city shall have the option of continuing to receive either retirement benefits or the compensation for the office to which that person is elected, or that person may choose to receive both such benefits and compensation. (a) As used in Section 32-5A-191, the term, "ignition interlock device" means a constant monitoring device that prevents a motor vehicle from being started at any time without first determining the equivalent blood alcohol level of the operator through the taking of a breath sample for testing. The system shall be calibrated so that the motor vehicle may not be started if the blood alcohol level of the operator, as measured by the test, reaches a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.02. (b) The ignition interlock device shall be installed, calibrated, and monitored directly by trained technicians who shall train the offender for whom the device is being installed in the proper use of the device. (a) In Etowah County, there is levied a one cent ($0.01) county sales and use tax in all areas of the county, which may become effective no sooner than January 1, 1996.
