Section 41-9-374 Payment of commission members' expenses and dues. (a) The Commission on Uniform
State Laws shall annually present its budget to the Legislative Council for approval. (b)
From funds appropriated for the commission, the commission shall: (1) Reimburse members of
the commission for their necessary expenses in performing the duties of their offices, including
travel for the meeting of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws,
subject to the approval of the Legislative Council. (2) Pay the cost of printing the commission's
reports. (3) Pay the dues of this state to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform
State Laws. (c) The amount of expenses and dues shall be certified to the state Comptroller
by the chair of the commission, and the state Comptroller shall draw warrants and the State
Treasurer shall pay the warrants for these purposes from funds appropriated for the commission.

Section 9-16-73 Surface Mining Commission - Creation; composition; officers; compensation;
meetings; offices; funds; removal of members. (a) There is continued as previously established
the Alabama Surface Mining Reclamation Commission under the name of the Alabama Surface Mining
Commission for the purpose of transition in implementing and enforcing this article and carrying
