Section 12-19-3 Phasing of state assumption of financial responsibility for Unified Judicial System. The state assumption of financial responsibility for the Unified Judicial System shall be phased over three fiscal years as follows: (1) The state shall be responsible for the following beginning in the 1975-76 fiscal year: a. Salaries and expenses of the Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals and the Court of Civil Appeals; b. (a) The magistrates shall be considered the chief officers of the municipal court administrative agency. Any judge retiring pursuant to subdivision (1) of subsection (a) of Section 12-18-55 who has served for 10 years shall be entitled to a disability benefit allowance payable monthly from the Judicial Retirement Fund equal to 75 percent of the salary payable to the state for the position held at the time of retirement.
