Section 16-50-25 Vacancies in office. Any vacancy in the office of trustee occurring during the recess of the Legislature shall be filled by appointment of the Governor from the same category in which the vacancy occurred. Such appointee shall hold office until the next session of the Legislature, when the vacancy shall be filled by the Governor by and with the consent of the Senate. Section 45-42-162.09 Duties of mayor and commission. The mayor shall preside at the meetings of the commission and shall be recognized as the head of the municipal government for all ceremonial purposes and by the Governor for purpose of military law. A mayor pro tem shall be elected from the membership by a majority vote of the commission at its first meeting following its election.
