Section 12-15-102 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following words and phrases
have the following meanings: (1) ADULT. An individual 19 years of age or older. (2) AFTERCARE.
Conditions and supervision as the juvenile court orders after release from the Department
of Youth Services. (3) CHILD. An individual under the age of 18 years, or under 21 years of
age and before the juvenile court for a delinquency matter arising before that individual's
18th birthday, or under 19 years of age and before the juvenile court for a child in need
of supervision matter or commitment to the State Department of Mental Health or under 19 years
of age and before the juvenile court for a proceeding initiated under Section 12-15-115(b)(2).
Where a delinquency petition alleges that an individual, prior to the individual's 18th birthday,
has committed an offense for which there is no statute of limitation pursuant to Section

examinations of children; minors or children believed to be individuals with a mental illness
or an intellectual disability; treatment or care for children; payment; authority to order

and shall not be released to any person, department, agency, or entity, except as provided

Section 12-15-134 Maintenance and inspection of law enforcement records. (a) Law enforcement
agencies shall take special precautions to ensure that law enforcement records and files concerning
a child will be maintained in a manner and pursuant to those safeguards that will protect
against disclosure to any unauthorized person, department, agency, or entity. Unless a charge
of delinquency is transferred for criminal prosecution pursuant to Section 12-15-203
or the juvenile court otherwise orders in the interests of the child or of national security,

Section 26-2B-302 Accepting guardianship or conservatorship transferred from another
state. (a) To confirm transfer of a guardianship or conservatorship transferred to this state
under provisions similar to Section 26-2B-301, the guardian or conservator must petition
the court in this state to accept the guardianship or conservatorship. The petition must include
the following: (1) a certified copy of the other state's provisional order of transfer; (2)
an inventory of the protected person's estate as of the date of the petition including certified
records of all bank accounts in the protected person's estate as of the date of the petition;
(3) proof of the conservator's bond; and (4) any final accounting of the protected person's
estate which has been submitted in the prior jurisdiction. If no such accounting was required

Section 30-3B-209 Information to be submitted to court. (a) Except, as otherwise provided
in subsection (e), in a child custody proceeding, each party, in its first pleading or in
an attached affidavit, shall give information, if reasonably ascertainable, under oath as

Section 26-10A-24 Contested hearing. (a) Whenever a motion contesting the adoption is
filed, the court shall set the matter for a contested hearing to determine: (1) Whether the
best interests of the adoptee will be served by the adoption. (2) Whether the adoptee is a
person capable of being adopted by the petitioner in accordance with the requirements of this
chapter. (3) Whether an actual or implied consent or relinquishment to the adoption is valid.

Section 6-6-20 Definition; instances requiring mediation; sanctions; exceptions; etc.
(a) For purposes of this section, "mediation" means a process in which a
neutral third party assists the parties to a civil action in reaching their own settlement
but does not have the authority to force the parties to accept a binding decision. (b) Mediation
is mandatory for all parties in the following instances: (1) At any time where all parties
