Section 27-55-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, these terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ABUSE. The occurrence of one or more of the following acts by a family or household member, as defined by subdivision (3) of subsection (b) of Section 15-10-3: a. Attempting to cause or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing another person, including a minor child, bodily injury, severe emotional injury, or psychological trauma or conduct which constitutes the crime of rape. b. Intentionally following another person, including a minor child, without proper authority, under circumstances that place the person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or physical harm. c. Subjecting another person, including a minor child, to false imprisonment or kidnapping. d. Attempting to cause or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing damage to property to intimidate or attempt to control the behavior of another person, including a minor child. e. (a)(1) When a person claims that a dog is dangerous, the person shall make a sworn statement before a city magistrate or sheriff setting forth the name of the dog owner, if known, the location where the dog is being kept in the city or county, and the reason he or she believes the dog to be dangerous. (2) The sworn statement shall be delivered to an animal control officer who shall complete a dangerous dog investigation.When the sworn statement claims that a dog has caused serious physical injury or death to a person, the duties of the animal control officer, including but not limited to the dangerous dog investigation, shall be carried out by a law enforcement officer. Section 36-29-7 Payment of employer's contribution; coverage for dependents; changes to contributions; withholding of employee's contribution; State Employees' Insurance Fund. (a) The board is hereby authorized to provide under the provisions of this chapter that the employer's contribution to the cost of such plan for coverage of the employee and retiree shall be paid by the employer. Section 6-5-271 Liability for theft or attempted theft; liability of parents of unemancipated minor; liability for defrauding an eating establishment; liability of foster home.
