Section 45-40-80 Supplemental expense allowance - Circuit judge. Immediately upon October 1, 2001, the Circuit Judge for the Thirty-sixth Judicial Circuit shall receive a supplemental expense allowance, payable in equal monthly installments from the Lawrence County General Fund, in an amount equal to 40 percent of the prevailing salary paid to such circuit judges by the state. (a) It has come to the attention of the Legislature that the present compensation of the circuit judges and District Attorney for the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit is somewhat below the average of that being paid to circuit judges and district attorneys in other judicial circuits in this state which have considerably lighter caseloads than the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit.
