Section 45-8A-20.01 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) "Applicant" means a natural person who files a written application with the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03. (2) "Authority" means the Anniston Downtown Development Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this part. (3) "Authorizing resolution" means a resolution adopted by the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03, that authorizes the corporation of the authority. Section 9-2-3 Powers and duties as to state parks and parkways, etc. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, for the purpose of establishing, developing and maintaining state parks and parkways, may acquire land by donation, purchase, condemnation or lease and for these purposes may use such funds as may be available to it and not otherwise obligated and may enter into agreements with the federal government or other agencies for acquiring by lease, purchase or otherwise such lands as in its judgment are desirable for state parks or parkways.
