Section 11-88-16 Exemption from taxation of authority and property, leases, bonds, etc., thereof;
payment of fees, taxes, or costs to probate judge for incorporation, etc.; imposition of license
or excise tax upon authority. The authority, the property and income of the authority, all
bonds issued by the authority, the income from such bonds, conveyances by or to the authority
and leases, mortgages, and deeds of trust by or to the authority shall be exempt from all
taxation in the State of Alabama. The authority shall not be obligated to pay or allow any
fees, taxes, or costs to the judge of probate of any county in respect of its incorporation,
the amendment of its certificate of incorporation, or the recording of any document. No license
or excise tax may be imposed on any authority in respect of the privilege of engaging in any

Section 16-16-8 Authority empowered to sell and issue bonds for construction, etc., of facilities
for public educational purposes; procedure for letting contracts. (a) The authority is hereby
authorized from time to time to sell and issue its bonds, not exceeding $116,000,000.00 in
aggregate principal amount, for the purpose of providing funds for construction, reconstruction,
alteration and improvement of buildings and other facilities for public educational purposes

Section 40-9-14.1 Certificates of exemption to governmental entities, contractors, etc., for
certain tax exempt projects. (a) For the purposes of this section, the term governmental entity
means the State of Alabama and its political subdivisions, including a county, a municipality,
an industrial or economic development board or authority, and any public water or sewer authority,
district, system, or board that otherwise is sales and use tax exempt. A governmental entity
