Section 40-14A-1 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall mean: (a) ALABAMA S CORPORATION. An S corporation defined under Section 40-18-160. (b) C CORPORATION. A corporation other than an Alabama S corporation. (c) CODE. The Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended from time to time. (d) CORPORATION. An entity, including a limited liability company electing to be taxed as a corporation for federal income tax purposes, through which business can be conducted while offering limited liability to the owners of the entity with respect to some or all of the obligations of the entity, other than a limited liability entity or a disregarded entity. Section 45-13-120 Compensation; election; oath and bond; office space, equipment; chief clerk; powers and duties; issuance of licenses; disposition of funds. (a)(1) Effective October 1, 1991, there is hereby created the office of commissioner of licenses. Section 45-12-240.40 Motor vehicle licensing. (a) The Revenue Commissioner of Choctaw County shall perform all duties relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on motor vehicles, motor vehicle titles, and nonmotorized vehicles in Choctaw County which the judge of probate is required under the law to perform.
