Section 45-37A-56 Zoning board of adjustment. (a) The governing body of any city which may now or hereafter have a population of 300,000 inhabitants or more, according to the last or any subsequent federal census and which may now or hereafter have in force and effect a comprehensive zoning ordinance shall provide for the appointment of a zoning board of adjustment and in the zoning regulations and restrictions adopted by the city pursuant to the authority of the laws of this state, provide that the zoning board of adjustment, in appropriate cases and subject to appropriate conditions and safeguards, shall make special exceptions to the terms of the zoning ordinance of the city in harmony with its general purpose and intent, and in accordance with general or specific rules therein contained. (a) After the first day of January, the Tax Collector of Calhoun County shall mail a statement to all delinquent taxpayers addressed to the party in whose name the property was assessed, showing a brief description of the property, and the amount of taxes, fees, and cost due. (a) Whenever the governing body of a municipality or county proposes to vacate a public street, alley, or highway, or portion thereof, the governing body shall schedule a public hearing prior to taking final action and shall publish notice of the proposed hearing on the vacation in a newspaper of general circulation in the portion of the county where the street, alley, or highway lies once a week for four consecutive weeks in the county prior to deciding the issue at a regularly scheduled meeting of the governing body. (a)(1) In addition to all other charges, costs, taxes, or fees levied by law on bail bonds, additional fees as detailed in paragraph a. and paragraph b. shall be imposed on every bail bond in all courts of this state.
