Section 24-1A-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication otherwise, have the following respective meanings: (1) AUTHORITY. The public corporation and instrumentality of the state organized pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (2) AUTHORIZED INVESTMENTS. Bonds or other obligations of, or guaranteed by, the United States of America or the state; interest bearing bank and savings and loan association deposits; obligations of any agency of the United States of America; any obligations in which a state chartered savings and loan association may invest its funds; any agreement to repurchase any of the foregoing; or any combination thereof. Section 37-13-13 Bonds of authority - Security. In the discretion of the authority any bonds may be issued under and secured by an indenture between the authority and a trustee. Said trustee may be a private person or corporation, including (but not limited to) any trust company or bank having trust powers, whether such bank or trust company is located within or without the state. Section 11-51-90 Municipal business licenses; branch offices; application. (a) All municipalities shall have the following powers: (1) To license any exhibition, trade, business, vocation, occupation, or profession not prohibited by the Constitution or laws of the state which may be engaged in or carried on in the municipality. (2) To fix the amount of licenses, the time for which they are to run, not exceeding one license year, to provide a penalty for doing business without a license, and to charge a fee not exceeding ten dollars ($10) for issuing each license.
