Section 45-27A-31.01 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application with the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-27A-31.03. (2) AUTHORITY. The Brewton Development Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to this part. (3) AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION. Provision is hereby made for the incorporation of an authority in any city of the State of Alabama, having a population of 300,000 or more according to the last or any subsequent federal census, which authority shall have the power to lease, or own, or otherwise acquire and provide, control and operate fairgrounds, parks, exhibits, exhibitions, and other installations, facilities, and places for the amusement, entertainment, recreation, and cultural development of the citizens of such city.
