Section 41-9-186 Duties. It shall be the duty of the said board to consult with the Governor and the Director of the Alabama Development Office, to advise the Governor of the industrial possibilities of the state and to furnish him with such information and studies as it deems desirable to accomplish a comprehensive program for the promotion of the commercial and industrial development of the state and the counties and municipalities thereof, and as the Governor may request. The superintendent of the local board of education along with the staff of each school shall develop an assistance program at each school for at-risk students performing below the standards set by the State Board of Education. The standards shall include the results of the required assessment program adopted by the State Board of Education with emphasis on students who are found to be at one or more grade levels below the prescribed norm.
