Section 11-52-73 Regulation and restriction of height, etc., of buildings, etc., sizes of lots, density of population, etc., authorized. For the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals, or general welfare of the community, the legislative body of incorporated cities and towns is hereby empowered to regulate and restrict the height, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lot that may be occupied, the size of yards, courts and other open spaces, the density of population and the location and use of buildings, structures, and land for trade, industry, residences, or other purposes. The director shall effectively control, or cause to be controlled, the erection and maintenance of outdoor advertising signs, displays, and devices in all business areas that are erected subsequent to February 10, 1971.
