Section 11-67-80 Abatement of public nuisance; costs. In any Class 7 municipality, in the case of any overgrown grass or weeds which may be abated pursuant to Article 4, commencing at Section 11-67-60, of this chapter, the city council may adopt procedures different from the procedures provided in Article 4 to declare overgrown grass or weeds to be a public nuisance and abated pursuant to the procedures provided in the ordinance. After the abatement of any overgrown grass or weeds pursuant to the procedures provided in the ordinance, the costs of abatement shall be assessed and collected as a weed lien in the same manner as provided in Section 11-67-66. Section 11-89C-9 Powers of governing bodies. (a) A governing body shall proceed under this chapter as a participant in the public corporation or individually, to adopt upon reasonable public notice and following public hearing all necessary rules and regulations by resolution or ordinance to implement this chapter and to specifically regulate and control storm water discharges and eliminate the discharge of pollutants to its municipal separate storm sewers.
