Section 45-36-241.20 County revenue commissioner. (a) After September 30, 1985, there shall be a county revenue commissioner in Jackson County. A commissioner shall be elected at the general election in 1984 and at the general election every six years thereafter, who shall serve for a term of six years beginning on the first day of October next after his or her election, and until his or her successor is elected and has qualified. Section 9-13-193 Referendum; amount of assessment; payment and remission of assessment; notice of referendum. (a) The commission shall authorize a referendum among owners or lessees of forest land to determine whether an assessment shall be levied upon said owners or lessees to offset, in whole or in part, the cost of forestry and forest fire protection programs.
