Section 40-20-4 Enforcement of article; collection of taxes; statements to be filed and records kept; inspection of records; hearings and compelling attendance of witnesses; rules and regulations. (a) The department is hereby authorized and directed to administer and enforce the provisions of this article and to collect all of the taxes levied under the provisions hereof. Section 11-51-90 Municipal business licenses; branch offices; application. (a) All municipalities shall have the following powers: (1) To license any exhibition, trade, business, vocation, occupation, or profession not prohibited by the Constitution or laws of the state which may be engaged in or carried on in the municipality.
