Section 45-40-245.32 Authorization of levy of use tax. (a) The governing body of the county is hereby authorized to levy and impose excise taxes on the storage, use, or other consumption of property in the county as hereinafter provided in this section: (1) An excise tax is hereby authorized to be levied and imposed on the storage, use, or other consumption in the county of tangible personal property not including, however, materials and supplies bought for use in fulfilling a contract for the painting, repairing, or reconditioning of vessels, barges, ships, and other watercraft of more than 50 tons burden purchased at retail on or after the effective date of such tax, for the storage, use, or other consumption in the county on or after the effective date of such tax, at the rate of not exceeding one percent of the sale price of such property, except as provided in subdivisions (2), (3), (4), and (5). Section 12-19-311 Bail bond fees. (a)(1) In addition to all other charges, costs, taxes, or fees levied by law on bail bonds, additional fees as detailed in paragraph a. and paragraph b. shall be imposed on every bail bond in all courts of this state. The fee shall not be assessed in traffic cases, except for those serious traffic offenses enumerated in Title 32, Chapter 5A, Article 9. Where multiple charges arise out of the same incident, the bond fee pursuant to this section shall only be assessed on one charge. Section 40-17-370 Levy, administration, and collection of additional excise tax. (a) Effective for tax periods beginning after August 31, 2019, an additional excise tax of six cents ($0.06) is imposed on each net gallon of gasoline and diesel fuel. Section 40-9-19 Homesteads. (a)(1) Homesteads, as defined by the Constitution and laws of Alabama, are exempt from all state ad valorem taxes. In no case shall the exemption apply to more than one person or head of the family, nor shall the exemption exceed $4,000 in assessed value or 160 acres in area for any resident of this state who is not over 65 years of age. (b) In addition to all other taxes of every kind now imposed by law, the Dale County Commission may levy a privilege or license tax upon every person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodging, or accommodations to a transient in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist camp, tourist cabin, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished to transients for a consideration.
