Section 9-10-33 Board of directors and officers. All powers of the corporation shall be exercised by the board of directors or pursuant to its authority. The directors shall be elected by the county commission for staggered terms of office as follows: two years, three years, four years, five years and six years. Thereafter the term of office of each director shall be six years. If any director resigns or dies or becomes incapable of acting as a director or ceases to reside in the county, the governing body shall elect a successor to serve for the unexpired term. Directors shall be eligible for reelection by the county commission to succeed themselves in office. A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. (a) For the purpose of providing the funds necessary to carry out the powers and duties of the association, the board of directors shall assess the member insurers, separately for each account, at such time and for such amounts as the board finds necessary.
