Section 45-8A-24 Membership; appointments; payments to City of Anniston. (a) It is the intention of the Legislature of Alabama that the majority of the members appointed to the Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Anniston shall be appointed by the City Council of Anniston. (b) The governing body of the City of Anniston, which authorized the creation of a corporation for the purpose of operating a water system and a sewer system pursuant to Article 9, Chapter 50, Title 11, shall restructure the Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Anniston and increase the membership of the board by two members for a total of seven board members. (a) Pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment No. 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, the Blount County Commission may levy, in addition to any other tax, an ad valorem tax in the amount of two mills on each dollar of taxable property in the county. The revenue from the additional tax shall be paid to the Blount County Water Authority Trust Fund, which shall be a separate fund within the county general fund and shall be used only for the expansion of existing facilities and service of water authorities in the county.
