Section 11-56-1 Definitions. The following words and phrases, whenever used in this chapter, shall, in the absence of clear implication otherwise, have the following respective meanings: (1) CORPORATION OR THE CORPORATION. A corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (2) BOARD. The board of directors of the corporation. (3) THE STATE. The State of Alabama. (4) THE MUNICIPALITY. That incorporated city or town in the state which authorized the organization of the corporation. (5) THE COUNTY. Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal; household exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or municipal governing body may, and is hereby authorized to, make available to the general public collection and disposal facilities for solid wastes in a manner acceptable to the department.
