Section 45-9-170 Regulation of junkyards; public nuisances; enforcement. (a) The regulation of the accumulation and storage of junk, inoperable motor vehicles, and other litter within the unincorporated areas of Chambers County, and licensing the operation of junkyards within the unincorporated areas of Chambers County is hereby declared to be in the public interest and necessary to promote the public safety, health, welfare, convenience, and enjoyment of public travel; to protect the public investment in public highways; to preserve and enhance the scenic beauty of lands and the environment; and to promote the conservation of natural mineral resources by encouraging recycling. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. Section 45-37A-53 Abatement of weeds. (a) All weeds growing upon private property within municipalities of the state having a population of 300,000 inhabitants or more, according to the last or any subsequent federal census, which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature or attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, may be declared to be a public nuisance by the governing body of any such municipality, and thereafter abated as in this section provided. (b) Whenever any such weeds are growing upon any private property, the governing body of any such municipality may, by resolution, declare the same to be a public nuisance.
