Section 45-7-241 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; construction with state sales tax statutes.
(a) The following words, terms, and phrases as used in this section shall have the following
respective meanings except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) "Commissioner"
means the Commissioner of Revenue of the State. (2) "County" means Butler County
in the State of Alabama. (3) "Fiscal Year" means the period commencing on October
1 of each calendar year and ending on September 30 of the next succeeding calendar year. (4)
"Month" means a calendar month. (5) "Quarterly Period" means the period
of three months ending on the last of each March, June, September, and December. (6) "Registered

Section 9-8-23 Creation and incorporation of districts; increase or decrease in boundaries;
reorganization; change of name. (a) Any 25 owners of land lying within the limits of the territory
proposed to be organized into a district may file a petition with the State Soil and Water
Conservation Committee asking that a soil and water conservation district be organized to
function in the territory described in the petition. Such petition shall set forth: (1) The
proposed name of said district; (2) That there is need in the interest of the public health,

Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence
in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with
tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to
requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer
has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among
other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal

resolving controversies that insures both the appearance and the reality of due process and

Section 11-48-15 Assessment against lands purchased by state at sale for nonpayment of taxes
of costs of street improvements and sewers authorized; effect of redemption or sale of said
lands. Any and every city or town shall have the power to assess for the cost of street improvements

Section 11-88-73 Appeal from assessments to circuit court - Entry of judgment for amount properly
chargeable against land where assessment defective; payment of costs. If, on the hearing of
such appeal, it shall appear that, by reason of any technical irregularity or defect in the
proceedings, the assessment has not been properly made against the lot or parcel of land sought
to be charged, the court may, nevertheless, on application of the authority, upon satisfactory

Section 11-88-79 Manner of payment of assessments generally. The authority, in ordering any
improvement the cost of which or any part thereof is to be assessed against any property in
accordance with the provisions of this article, may provide that the same shall be paid in
cash within 30 days after the final assessment; provided, that the cost of such improvement
does not exceed $25.00. If the total cost of the said improvement is greater than such sum,
