Section 11-53B-7 Payment of costs. The municipality, in ordering any repair or demolition the cost of which or any part thereof is to be assessed against any property in accordance with this chapter, may provide that the same shall be paid in cash within 30 days after the final assessment; provided, however, that if the assessed amount is greater than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), the property owner may, at his or her election, to be expressed by notifying the municipal official charged with the duty of collecting the assessments in writing within 30 days after the final assessment is determined, pay the final assessment in 10 equal annual installments, which shall bear interest at a rate not exceeding 12 percent per annum. Each prospective absentee voter who meets the requirements of this chapter shall be furnished with the absentee ballot herein provided for, together with two envelopes for returning his or her marked ballot and instructions for completing and returning the absentee ballot as well as instructions for correcting mistakes in completing ballots or obtaining a replacement ballot. Section 11-43A-18 Appointment of city manager; temporary acting city manager; removal; dealings with administrative service. The council, by a majority vote of the whole qualified membership of the council, shall appoint a city manager, who shall be an officer of the city, and shall have the powers to perform the duties in this article provided.
