Section 45-5-141.20 Powers and duties; annual dues; board of trustees; referendum election. (a) This section shall apply only in Blount County. (b) A district for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval of the mandatory annual dues of the district. (c) In order to call for a referendum election for the formation of a district, a petition signed by not less than 20 percent of the registered voters who reside in the proposed district shall be presented to the county commission and the Judge of Probate of Blount County. (a) The Revenue Commissioner of Choctaw County shall perform all duties relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on motor vehicles, motor vehicle titles, and nonmotorized vehicles in Choctaw County which the judge of probate is required under the law to perform. Section 45-7-82.27 Costs and fees. (a) Prior to admission, the office of the district attorney may charge a nonrefundable application fee of one hundred dollars ($100). The amount of the assessment for participation in the program shall be in addition to any program supervision fees, court costs, and assessments for drug, alcohol, or anger treatments required by law, the district attorney, or the court, and are in addition to costs of supervision, treatment, and restitution for which the pretrial diversion admittee may be responsible. It may be mandatory for the offender to pay all court costs for the offense charged.
