Section 45-48A-61 Acquisition and administration of cable television system. As used in this part, municipal corporation means the City of Guntersville in Marshall County. In addition to other powers, rights, and authority granted to municipal corporations generally, the municipal corporation may: Acquire, purchase, construct, lease, operate, maintain, enlarge, and extend and improve a cable television system which may be defined, without limiting the generality, as a facility that in whole or in part, receives directly, or indirectly, or over the air, and amplifies or otherwise modifies the signal transmitting programs broadcast by one or more television or radio stations, and distributes the signals by wire or cable to subscribing members of the public living in the municipal corporation or its surrounding territory who pay for such service. (a) The power of the authority shall be vested in and exercised by a majority of the members of the board of directors.
