Section 45-37A-150.01 Establishment of districts. (a) The City Council of the City of Fairfield, may, not less than six months prior to the next regular general municipal election in 1992, by ordinance adopted by a majority of the membership of the council, divide the municipality into six single-member districts and designate the districts as numbers one through six, pursuant to subsection (b). The ordinance shall provide that candidates for election for a place on the council shall reside within the boundaries of the district for which he or she seeks election, and shall continue to so reside in the district he or she represents so long as he or she remains a member of the council.
