Section 22-28-23 Local air pollution control programs. (a) Except as provided in this section,
it is the intention of this chapter to occupy by preemption the field of air pollution control
within all areas of the State of Alabama. However, nothing in this section shall be construed
to limit or abrogate any private remedies now available to any person for the alleviation,
abatement, control, correction, or prevention of air pollution or restitution for damage resulting
therefrom. (b) Subject to the provisions of this section, each municipal governing body which
had municipal ordinances in effect on, or before, July 1, 1969, which pertain to air pollution
control and which provide for the creation and establishment of an air pollution control board
and each county board of health shall have the authority to establish, and thereafter administer,

Section 45-37A-52.64 Meetings; passage of ordinances, etc. The council shall hold regular public
meetings on Tuesday of each and every week at a regular hour to be fixed by the order of the
council from time to time and publicly announced. The council may hold such adjourned, called,
special, or other meetings as the business of the city may require. The president of the council,
when present, shall preside at all meetings of the council. Five members of the council shall

Section 11-43A-86 Clerk of municipality; when subject to civil service or merit system; duties.
If the clerk of any municipality which adopts the council-manager form of government under
this article holds office subject to any civil service law or merit system, such clerk shall
continue to be the clerk under the council-manager form of government hereunder, and his successor
shall be selected and hold office subject to the provisions of such civil service law or merit
system. If the clerk of any municipality which adopts the council-manager form of government
under this article does not hold office subject to any civil service law or merit system,

Section 7-9A-515 Duration and effectiveness of financing statement; effect of lapsed financing
statement. (a) Five-year effectiveness. Except as otherwise provided in subsections (b), (e),
(f), (g), and (h), a filed financing statement is effective for a period of five years after
the date of filing. (b) Manufactured-home transaction. Except as otherwise provided in subsections
(e), (f), and (g), an initial financing statement filed in connection with a manufactured-home
transaction is effective for a period of 30 years after the date of filing if it indicates

Section 11-44E-21 Government to be known as mayor/commission/city manager form of government;
powers of city vested in commission; exercise of powers. The municipal government of any such
city proceeding under this chapter shall be known as the "mayor/commission/city manager
form of government." Pursuant to the provisions and limitations of this chapter and subject
to the limitations imposed by the laws and Constitution of Alabama, all powers of the city

Section 11-89A-6 Board of directors of authority; election; terms of office; vacancies; qualifications;
