Section 45-11-71.01 Composition. (a) This section shall apply only in Chilton County. (b) Effective for the election of the county commission in November 2008 and thereafter, the Chilton County Commission shall be composed of five members elected from single-member districts. The member from each respective district shall be elected by the qualified electors residing within that district. The districts for the election of the commissioners in November 2008 shall be apportioned by the county commission at least 180 days prior to the last date for qualifying for the primary election and thereafter may be apportioned as provided by law. (c) Each candidate for election shall have been a resident and qualified elector of the district he or she seeks to represent at least 180 days prior to qualifying for election and shall remain a resident of the same district during his or her tenure in office. (a) Except as provided by subsection (e), an incapacitated person or any person interested in the welfare of the incapacitated person may petition for appointment of a limited or general guardian. Any contest to a nomination made by primary election must be filed within 24 hours after the results of the primary election have been declared, weekends excluded, under the same conditions and on the same grounds as provided in the laws of Alabama for general elections of state and county officers and as provided in this chapter.
