Section 11-44C-76 Existing rights and privileges of officers and employees; existing laws not
inconsistent with personnel, etc., provisions of chapter. Nothing contained in the provisions
of this chapter shall affect or impair the rights or privileges of officers or employees of
the city or of any office, department, or agency existing at the time when this chapter shall
take effect or any provision of law in force at the time when the mayor-council form of government
shall become applicable and not inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter in relation
to the personnel, appointment, ranks, grades, tenure of office, promotion, removal, pension,

legislative intent of this bill that the following provisions shall apply regardless of which
form of government the majority of the qualified electors voting in the election provided

Section 11-43A-84 Appointment of city manager; temporary acting city manager; term of city

Section 45-39A-13.02 Composition of civil service board. The civil service board shall consist
of five members to be appointed by the members of the City Council of the City of Florence.
In each year the city council shall appoint one person as the successor to the member of the
civil service board whose term shall expire that year. The person so appointed shall hold
office for a term of five years from and including the first Tuesday after the first Monday
of April of the year and until his or her successor shall be appointed and qualify for office.

of Anniston, which shall be composed of three members. The members serving on October 2, 1975,
