Section 45-45A-32.01 Board compensation. (a) The members of the Huntsville City Board of Education
shall receive reasonable monthly compensation for their service as follows: (1) For each month,
beginning October 1, 2000, to September 1, 2002, inclusive, each member of the board of education
shall receive monthly compensation equal to 50 percent of the monthly compensation prescribed
by law for members of the Huntsville City Council, not exceeding eight hundred sixty-five
dollars ($865) per month, and the president of the board of education shall receive monthly
compensation equal to 50 percent of the monthly compensation prescribed by law for the President
of the Huntsville City Council, not exceeding one thousand thirty-eight dollars ($1,038) per
month. (2) For each month, beginning October 1, 2002, and thereafter, each member of the board
of education shall receive monthly compensation equal to 75 percent of the monthly compensation

Section 45-22A-60 Expense allowance for mayor and city council. (a) The City Council of the
City of Hanceville in Cullman County, by resolution of the council, may authorize the mayor
to receive an additional expense allowance in the amount of twenty-one thousand four hundred
dollars ($21,400) per year, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation,
or salary provided by law and the use of an automobile. The expense allowance authorized by
this subsection shall be effective on the first day of the month after the adoption of a resolution
by the council and shall be payable in equal monthly payments from the general fund of the

Section 45-37A-52.94 Vacancy. Whenever any vacancy in the office of mayor shall occur by reason
of death, resignation, removal, or any other cause, the president of the council shall assume
the duties of the office of mayor effective on the date such vacancy occurs and shall serve
as acting mayor until a new mayor is elected and qualified as hereinafter provided. The acting

voting in the referendum provided herein choose a mayor-council form of government, the following

Section 45-49-140.08 Board of trustees. (a) The affairs and business of the district shall
be managed by a board of trustees consisting of five members who shall be elected by the qualified
electors of the district unless a candidate is unopposed for office. A candidate who is unopposed
