Section 45-8A-130.04 Civil Service Board - Creation; composition. (a) There is hereby created the Civil Service Board of the City of Weaver, which shall be composed of three members, appointed by the Calhoun County Legislative Delegation. The following groups shall each submit the names of two nominees to the legislative delegation: (1) Employees of the public works department. (2) Employees of the police department. (3) The mayor and city council. (b) The legislative delegation shall appoint one member from the nominees submitted by each group, and each appointee shall serve for terms of six years or until his or her successor is appointed. No person shall be appointed to the board who is not a resident and qualified elector of the City of Weaver and over the age of 21 years. Within five days of the date of his or her receipt of the certificate of adoption the judge of probate with whom the certificate was filed shall call an election to be held on the first Tuesday in September, 1954.
