Section 16-26A-4 Board of directors generally. (a) There is hereby created a board of directors for the school, sometimes hereinafter referred to as the "board." The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is enacted into law and entered into with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the form substantially as follows: THE INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR JUVENILES Article I. Purpose. The compacting states to this interstate compact recognize that each state is responsible for the proper supervision or return of juveniles, delinquents and status offenders who are on probation or parole and who have absconded, escaped or run away from supervision and control and in so doing have endangered their own safety and the safety of others. (a)(1) The personnel board shall consist of five members designated respectively as Member 1, Member 2, Member 3, Member 4, and Member 5, each of whom shall be over 19 years of age, of recognized good character and ability, a qualified elector of Mobile County, and shall not, when appointed nor for three years then next preceding the date of his or her appointment have held elective public office, nor have been a candidate for public office.
