Section 11-40-14 Expense allowances for members of governing body of Class 1 municipalities; reimbursement for expenses incurred beyond corporate limits. (a) The council or other governing body of Class 1 municipalities in Alabama and all municipalities in Alabama having a population of 250,000 or more according to the last and any subsequent federal decennial census, shall have the power and authority to grant to any member of such council or other governing body an amount of money for expenses incurred by such member on account of such member's attending the business of such municipality within its corporate limits. Section 45-25-71 Election of members. (a) Effective the next election of the DeKalb County Commission, the members of the DeKalb County Commission shall be elected from single-member districts. Each member of the commission shall be a resident and qualified elector of the district he or she represents. (b) Not later than January 1 of the year of the next election of the county commission, the DeKalb County Commission shall adopt a plan dividing the county into districts of approximately equal population based on the immediately preceding federal decennial census.
