Section 45-37A-150.01 Establishment of districts. (a) The City Council of the City of Fairfield, may, not less than six months prior to the next regular general municipal election in 1992, by ordinance adopted by a majority of the membership of the council, divide the municipality into six single-member districts and designate the districts as numbers one through six, pursuant to subsection (b). The ordinance shall provide that candidates for election for a place on the council shall reside within the boundaries of the district for which he or she seeks election, and shall continue to so reside in the district he or she represents so long as he or she remains a member of the council. Candidates for election to a place on the council shall have resided within the district from which he or she seeks election for a period of 90 days immediately preceding the date of the election. Section 11-44E-3 Election of commission and mayor; term of office. (a) The expense for all elections shall be paid by such city. The mayor and all commission candidates shall qualify as provided in Sections 11-44E-71 and 11-44E-72, respectively, and shall have the qualifications and eligibility set forth in this chapter. Under applicable laws for the election of commissioners to the commission, the mayor, within the scope of this chapter, shall provide for an election to be held on the second Tuesday in July, 1991, and every two years thereafter for the positions of associate commissioners in the manner herein provided. Section 11-43-42 Exercise of functions of mayor during absence or disability of mayor; filling of vacancies in offices of mayor, president and president pro tempore of council. (a) In case of the absence of the mayor from a city of 12,000 or more inhabitants or his inability to serve on account of sickness or any other good reason, the president of the council or the president pro tempore of the council in case of absence or disability of the president of the council shall act as mayor pro tempore with the power and authority of the mayor during such time. Section 45-24-90 Selma and Dallas County Economic Development Authority. (a) In Dallas County, there is created the Selma and Dallas County Economic Development Authority. Section 45-49A-83 Prichard Communication Authority. (a) There is created the Prichard Communication Authority.
