Section 16-9-2 Qualifications of superintendent. (a) The county superintendent of education shall be chosen for his general fitness and character and shall be a person of recognized ability as a school administrator. Section 45-37-122.04 Termination; acting county manager. (a) A county manager may be terminated only upon a vote of four-fifths of the county commission. In the event the termination is made without cause, the county may provide the county manager with a severance package.
