Section 45-37A-52.95 Powers and duties. The mayor shall be the head of the administrative branch of the city government. The mayor shall not sit with the council nor shall he or she have a vote in its proceedings and he or she shall have the power and duties herein conferred. Section 11-42-104 Oath and compensation of commissioners; expenses of election; failure of commissioner to act. Before entering upon the discharge of their duties, the commissioners shall take an oath before some officer authorized by law to administer oaths to faithfully and impartially discharge their duties as such commissioners. In availing itself of the powers conferred by this article, the legislative body of any incorporated city or town may appoint a commission, to be known as the zoning commission, to recommend the boundaries of the various original districts and appropriate regulations to be enforced therein.
