Section 11-40-10.1 Contracts for certain law enforcement services of Class 6 municipality. (a) The governing body of a Class 6 municipality may enter into contracts which provide for the police department of the municipality to provide law enforcement services beyond the corporate limits of the municipality, but within the police jurisdiction of the municipality, and may prescribe the conditions under which the services may be rendered. The governing body of the municipality may enter into a contract or contracts with any county or county board, any property owner of a manufacturing or industrial concern, or any property owner within any residential or business area for its police department to render law enforcement services on the terms as may be agreed to by the governing body of a Class 6 municipality and the contracting party or parties. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
