Section 16-1-24.3 Local boards of education to implement policies requiring expulsion of students who possess firearms in school areas. (a) All city and county boards of education shall develop and implement local policies and procedures requiring the expulsion of students, for a period of one year, who are determined to have brought to school or have in their possession a firearm in a school building, on school grounds, on school buses, or at other school-sponsored functions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, city and county boards of education and the local superintendent of education of each board may modify the expulsion requirement for a student on a case-by-case basis. Students who are expelled for violation of this section shall not be allowed to attend regular school classes in any public school in the state during the expulsion period. Section 45-37-91.03 Powers of bureau. (a) The bureau may conduct programs including, but not limited to, programs of information and publicity designed to attract conventions and tourists to the area. The bureau may conduct the programs and expend its funds in the furtherance of the programs in Alabama and elsewhere. Section 45-8-22 Special licenses; additional taxes; maintenance of records. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, other than the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, to sell at retail in Calhoun County any spirituous or vinous liquors without first obtaining a special license from the judge of probate that shall be in addition to all other licenses required by law. The amount of the special license shall be determined by the county commission and shall be levied in the same manner as other county licenses are levied. Section 45-46-242.26 Charge for collection; disposition of funds. The department, or other entity, shall charge Marengo County for collecting the tax levied under this subpart in an amount or percentage of total collections as may be agreed upon by the commissioner, or other entity, and the Marengo County Commission. The charge shall not exceed five percent of the total amount of the tax collected in the county. The charge may be deducted each month from the gross revenues from the tax before certification of the amount of the proceeds due Marengo County for that month.
