Section 45-46-90 Legislative findings. (a) The Legislature has found and determined
and does hereby declare that in Marengo County and in all municipalities situated in the county
the following conditions exist: (1) That the recent improvement of the state's inland waterways
is and will continue bringing about an ever expanding use of such waterways, and the tremendous
growth of commerce on such waterways has created a critical need for industrial expansion
and development in general and a particularly critical need for wharves, piers, docks, quays,
grain elevators, cotton compresses, warehouses, water and rail terminals, and other structures
and facilities needful in such commerce and for the convenient use of such waterways. (2)

Section 45-8-11.05 Additional expense allowances and uniform compensation increases
for certain county officers. (a) As used in this section, county means Calhoun County
and county official means each local Calhoun County official covered by Chapter 2A of Title
11. (b)(1) Commencing July 1, 2007, the following county officers shall receive the following
additional expense allowances payable in biweekly installments from the funds from which their

Section 11-49B-22 Taxes; exemptions; reporting credit sales; lien security; state sales
tax provisions applicable; charge for collecting tax; voting. (a) The authority shall, subject
to a referendum in the counties it proposes to serve, levy, in addition to all other taxes,
including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts license taxes, a 1/4 percent privilege
license tax against gross sales or gross receipts, provided, however, that the rate of such

Section 11-52-30 Territorial jurisdiction; approval of maps or plats; regulations; limits
on exercise of powers. (a) Except as otherwise provided herein, the territorial jurisdiction

Section 36-6-11 Longevity pay. (a) Each person employed by the State of Alabama, and
all legislative personnel, officers, or employees, including but not limited to Legislative

Section 39-2-2 Advertisement for and opening of sealed bids for public works contracts;
violations; exclusions; emergency actions; sole source specification. (a) Before entering
into any contract for a public works involving an amount in excess of fifty thousand dollars
($50,000), the awarding authority shall advertise for sealed bids, except as provided in subsection

Section 45-29-90.12 Rates, fees, and charges for services. (a) Rates, fees, and charges
for services rendered by the authority from any of its facilities shall be fixed and from
time to time revised by the authority; provided, that such rates, fees, and charges shall

Section 45-48-111.03 Custodian of voting machines. A custodian of voting machines shall
be appointed by a committee composed of the senior circuit judge, who shall also be the chair,
the judge of probate, tax collector, sheriff, and the county judge. Such custodian of voting
machines shall have attended a recognized school that teaches the operation and handling of
voting machines, or in lieu thereof must have had at least three years' experience in the
operation and handling of voting machines. The custodian shall be responsible for performing
all duties as set out in Section 17-9-28. The custodian of voting machines shall receive
