Section 11-26-2 Health and accident group authorized; appropriation and collection of funds. Any county or group of counties, either individually or collectively, may establish a health and accident self-insurance group for the purpose of providing health care and hospitalization benefits for their officers, employees, and family members dependent upon such officers or employees. Member counties may appropriate such funds as necessary to the health and accident self-insurance group to provide such hospitalization and health care benefits. Member counties may collect from its officers and employees such amounts necessary for dependent family coverage and remit the same to the health and accident self-insurance group.
