Section 45-49A-64 Purpose; legislative findings. (a) The Legislature has found and determined
and does hereby declare that in municipalities having a population of not less than 175,000
nor more than 250,000 the following conditions exist: (1) That the constant growth of private
vehicular traffic in such counties is placing excessive burdens upon the road systems and
parking facilities, especially in commercial and industrial districts and in areas of high
population density. (2) That the continued economic growth of such municipalities and the
general health and welfare of the citizens of such counties require the availability of public
facilities for mass transportation. (3) That it is necessary and desirable and in the best
interests of the citizens of such municipalities that provisions be made for the establishment
in such counties of public corporations to provide public transportation service. (4) The

Section 8-17-91 Disposition of funds; overpayments. (a) The proceeds from the permit fees,
inspection fees, and penalties, if any, collected by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries
and the Revenue Commissioner pursuant to Section 8-17-87 together with one-third of the proceeds
of the six cent ($.06) additional motor fuel excise tax levied on gasoline under subdivision
(1) of subsection (a) of Section 40-17-325, shall be paid into the State Treasury and distributed
by the State Treasurer as follows: (1) An amount equal to five percent or no less than $175,000,
whichever is greater, of the combined proceeds received each month shall accrue to the credit

Section 2-26-75 Conduct of investigation as to complaint by committee; hindering, obstructing,
etc., access to premises, review of records, etc., by committee; report of findings and recommendations.
When the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries refers a complaint by a farmer or other
seed purchaser to the Seed Investigation and Arbitration Committee, said committee shall make
a full and complete investigation of the matters complained of and at the conclusion of said
investigation report its findings with its recommendations and file same with the Commissioner
of Agriculture and Industries. The purchaser of the seed and the seed dealer shall upon request

Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department
of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds,
from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The
department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the
