Section 26-2A-20 General definitions. As used in this chapter the following terms shall have
the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1)
CLAIMS. In respect of a protected person, includes liabilities of the protected person, whether
arising in contract, tort, or otherwise, and liabilities of the estate which arise at or after
the appointment of a conservator, including expenses of administration. (2) CONSERVATOR. A
person who is appointed by a court to manage the estate of a protected person and includes
a limited conservator described in Section 26-2A-148(a). (3) COURT. A probate court of this
state. (4) COURT REPRESENTATIVE. A person appointed in a guardianship or protective proceeding

Section 27-44-5 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following

Section 36-25-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall
have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Any corporation, partnership, proprietorship, firm,
enterprise, franchise, association, organization, self-employed individual, or any other legal
entity. (2) BUSINESS WITH WHICH THE PERSON IS ASSOCIATED. Any business of which the person

Section 5-17-8 Reports to Administrator of Alabama Credit Union Administration; powers of administrator.
(a) Credit unions shall report to the Administrator of the Alabama Credit Union Administration
at least annually on or before January 31 in such manner and form as required by the administrator
for that purpose. Additional reports may be required. Credit unions shall be examined at least
every 18 months by employees of the administration or by other persons designated by the administrator.
For failure to file reports when due, unless excused for cause by the administrator, the credit
union shall pay to the State Treasurer five dollars ($5) for each day of its delinquency.

Section 10A-2A-1.40 Chapter definitions. Notwithstanding Section 10A-1-1.03, as used in this

Section 27-28-2 Plan for exchange of stock, etc., between domestic stock insurer and holding
company - Procedure for exchange. A plan of exchange shall be adopted and become effective
in the following manner: (1) APPROVAL OF THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS. - The boards of directors

Section 30-4-17 Revocation of certain transferable interests in property upon divorce or annulment.
(a) In this section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) DISPOSITION OR APPOINTMENT
OF PROPERTY. Includes a transfer of an item of property or any other benefit to a beneficiary
designated in a governing instrument. (2) DIVORCE or ANNULMENT. Any divorce or annulment,
