Section 27-26-5 Reports of judgments and settlements; confidentiality; penalty. (a) Any insurance company which sells medical liability insurance to Alabama physicians or their professional corporations or professional associations, or to hospitals or other health care providers shall be required to report to the state licensing agency which issues the license of the physician, hospital, or other health care provider any final judgment or any settlement in or out of court resulting from a claim or action for damages for personal injuries caused by an error, omission, or negligence in the performance of professional services with or without consent rendered by its policyholder within 30 days after entry of a judgment in court or agreement to settle a claim in or out of court. The agreement on detainers is hereby enacted into law and entered into by the State of Alabama with any and all jurisdictions legally joining therein, in the form substantially as follows: AGREEMENT ON DETAINERS The contracting states solemnly agree that: Article I. Section 34-14A-15 Recovery fund. (a) The board may establish a Homeowners' Recovery Fund for the purpose of consumer protection, consumer education, and consumer awareness. An aggrieved homeowner may recover actual economic damages, not including interest and court costs, sustained within the state as the direct result of conduct of a licensee in violation of this chapter or the rules of the board from the Homeowners' Recovery Fund.
